Dan’s Garage Door & Fence is an established family owned and operated company with over 43 years of experience providing garage doors, entry doors, and garage door openers to homeowners and builders throughout the Alton/Godfrey and greater Riverbend area.

Calling himself “The Door Keeper”, Dan started his garage door business in 1977 working out of his home-garage in East Alton, Illinois. He would hang garage doors during the day and work midnights as a full-time assembly line worker for Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, Missouri. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 2006.

In the spring of 2013, Dan took the plunge and moved his business out of his home-garage and opened his first store and showroom at 5407 Godfrey Road in Godfrey, Illinois. In August 2015, Dan’s Garage Door Service opened a second location at 1411 Troy Road in Edwardsville, Illinois. In 2019, we combined both of our locations and moved to a larger building at 5501 Godfrey Road in Godfrey. In February 2020, we made another major move and purchased Alton Fence and Door. We have experienced phenomenal growth in the past years because of our dedication to customer service and reputation of providing quality products at affordable prices.
